A Wake-Up Call

Written by The Payroll Company | Apr 30, 2020 4:00:00 AM

It was all a dream… in 2003, I used to sell newspaper advertising! From 2003 to 2009, print was the preferred media over the internet when it came to advertising. Online advertising was still a concept many just could not grasp. Clearly, the web was the way of the future but why were most business owners stuck in their old ways?

In 2005, just 5% of American adults used social media. Today, 72% of the public uses some form of social media. I cannot help but notice a correlation today between internet advertising and workforce management. Similar to how my clients would not adopt online advertising just 11 years ago, many organizations will not adopt new technology to manage their workforce. By year 2025, 75% of the workforce will be millennial. Think about that for a second. 75% of the people hired in 5 years will have been raised on technology, be completely tech savvy, and view work in a completely new way.

I find myself thinking about those employers who are in “growth mode” but do not offer direct deposit to pay their people. Or the employers that hand their new hires a stack of paper to fill out when they come on board. I could go on and on with examples but I think you understand where I am going here.

Today, organizations can use a single system to handle everything in workforce management. One system for finding, attracting, hiring, and on-boarding new employees. One system to keep your employees engaged with tools that help them stay connected, share ideas, seek help, and collaborate. One system that delivers a better work life with a solution designed to improve culture and engagement for your organization – all with the foundational tasks of payroll, time and attendance, and benefits. Think of it this way… would you choose, on a daily basis, to carry around a cell phone, iPod, camera, and GPS, or would you prefer to have just a single iPhone?

The COVID-19 pandemic has been a bit of a wake-up call for all of us. It offered us a glimpse into how the workforce is going to change – employees working from home, utilizing technology to communicate, etc. If you have not begun to evaluate ways to future-proof your business, it is time. At TPC, we are dedicated to helping employers future-proof their business. When you partner with TPC, we go the extra mile and build a solution to fit your specific situation. We are available to come onsite and provide dedicated support throughout the life of our relationship. There are many software options out there but most lack the support you need and deserve. If you are looking for new options or are at a point you just want things done right, let’s talk. I am Justin Shadel and I would love to show you why we have maintained a 99% client retention rate.
